Under 14’s well beaten at Aldwinians.

January 25th, 2009

In the under 14s last group game of this season’s Lancashire Cup they made the 100 mile round trip to East Manchester to face Aldwinians. This was always going to be a hard game as Aldwinians sat proudly in second place in the group not having lost a game.

As usual Ormskirk had to put […]

January 22nd, 2009

I wish to set up another volunteer weekend on Saturday 31st January 2009. The previous one did not drive a great turnout but those that did turnout really did make a difference to the condition of our Club. Hopefully this time we will get an even better turnout and we can build on the work […]

Phil Downing

January 22nd, 2009

Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family of Phil Downing, who sadly passed away this week.
Phil was President of our Club in the late 70s/early 80s, and someone who was respected and admired by generations of Club members.
May he Rest In Peace

U10s Continue Winning Ways in 2009

January 19th, 2009

Sunday 18th January saw a trip across to Blackburn, which is always a good fixture as the two sides are traditionally very evenly matched. This proved to be the case again as Blackburn scored first before Ormskirk came alive and opened up a 4-1 lead. Blackburn rallied impressively after half time to bring it back […]

Dear Parents, Coaches and Colleagues,
Due to Dudley Valentine stepping down as the Mini Junior section Chairman we have a vacancy for this very important position.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to become involved in leading with the ongoing development of both the Mini Junior Section and the club as a whole. The coming […]

Under 14s start New Year on winning note

January 13th, 2009

After all the freezing weather of late it was good to see an overnight rise in temperatures which meant that the local derby against Tarleton could go ahead. Ormskirk travelled with an almost full squad  keen to get back to winning ways after a disappointing end to 2008. After some recent excellent victories, including Widnes, […]

Winning start to 2009 for U10s

January 13th, 2009

Our first outing for 2009 was a local derby away to Southport. This couldn’t have really gone any better with a convincing 7 - 3 win made possible by robust defence and superb backing up in attack to capitalise on our breaks. Kai Smith deservedly won the “top tackler” award this week but all 12 players […]
