Fellow members,
Those of you who attended the inaugural club development function know that things are beginning to move.

We are a big club and if we club together for this one issue, we will deliver the facilities our players deserve.

Three Ormskirk players represented Lancashire in this weekend’s fixtures against Northumberland:
Claire Rylance and Sammy Hunter played right & left wing in the senior team’s resounding victory.  Sammy scored a try and picked up back of the match for her efforts.
Joanna Smith had a industrious game at flanker in the very close U18’s game that ended […]

Ormskirk have progressed to the third round of the EDF Senior Vase but were made to work hard by a committed Oswestry team.

Under 14s push Grasshoppers close

October 20th, 2008

This weekend saw the 2nd qualifying round of The Lancashire Cup with a visit from last season’s champions Preston Grasshoppers. With a full squad to pick from the coaches felt that there was enough strength in depth to give the visitors a close game and make up for their defeat by one point against Bury […]

October 20th, 2008

On the 19th October we had a re-arranged fixture away against Winnington Park. An experimental team with several players in unfamiliar positions and three players making their Ormskirk debuts warmed up with a game against Winnington Park B. They then played Winnington Park A running out convincing 5-1 winners although the game was very tight […]

Under 8s Manchester Festival 12.10.08

October 20th, 2008

Despite valiant efforts all round, it was not to be the Under 8’s day! In a tough group they lost the first game to an aggressive Lymm, won the second against Widnes and in the deciding third game, lost by one try to Blackburn. Had our troopers won this last game they would have made […]

First XV Stunned By Last Minute Defeat

October 13th, 2008

Ormskirk were seconds away from recording their first away win of the season at promotion favourites Widnes on Saturday.
A dramatic final 10 minutes saw Ormskirk snatch a 24-23 lead before Widnes crossed for a try with the last play of the game.
Despite the demoralising result, Kirk’s young side proved they can more than compete with […]

October 11th, 2008

Thanks to our sponsors DIRECT ACCIDENT, the under 8s squad looked a million dollars in their new kit, and they gave a performance to match.

The ground was very soggy but our little troopers battled on without too many mud dives! All three games were played in true sporting spirit. Our teams excelled themselves, demonstrating running […]

October 8th, 2008

First the facts. York gamely turned up with 13 players for the Ladies’ […]

Ormskirk recorded their third successive home victory of the season after a nail-biting 22-18 win against Wigan on Saturday.
John Armstrong, Ormskirk’s Prodigal Son, scored all of the home side’s points including a converted try and five penalties.

Kirk started the game in positive fashion as some sustained pressure from the kick off caused Wigan to infringe […]

October 6th, 2008

Aldwinians u15  13pts - Ormskirk u15  11pts
After being swept aside 28-5 in this Lancs Junior Challenge fixture last season, Ormskirk were keen to show how well they had improved. They certainly did that and were ever so close to creating one of the upsets of the first group matches. That Aldwinians won with a converted […]
